Add an AI Chatbot to Wix

Wix lets you add custom code to every page from your site settings. Your AI chatbot then appears site-wide, styled to match your Wix design.

Before you start

You need: A Wix Premium plan with a connected domain (Wix requires this for custom code).
Time: about 2–5 minutes
Your snippet: included in your setup email from StartupLime (it contains your unique bot ID)

Your setup email contains the snippet with your real bot ID. Prefer not to touch code? We install it for free.

In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings and open Custom Code (under Advanced).
Click + Add Custom Code.
Paste your chatbot snippet and give it a name, such as “AI chatbot”.
Under Add Code to Pages choose All pages and Load code once.
Under Place Code in choose Body – end, then click Apply and publish your site.

Custom code only runs on your published site, not in the Wix editor preview.
If you use Wix’s own chat, turn it off to avoid two chat buttons.
Wix menu names change from time to time; if you can’t find Custom Code, search “custom code” in the dashboard.

Why don’t I see the chatbot in the editor?

Wix runs custom code only on the live, published site. Open your site’s public URL to test it.

Does it work on the free Wix plan?

No. Wix only allows custom code on Premium plans with a connected domain.

Will it work on Wix Studio sites?

Yes, the same Custom Code setting applies.

Do I need to rebuild my Wix site?

No. The chatbot sits on top of your existing site. Nothing about your design, pages or SEO changes.
