Add an AI Chatbot to GoDaddy

GoDaddy offers several website products, and the install method depends on which one you use. Here’s how to add your chatbot to GoDaddy Websites + Marketing (Website Builder) and to GoDaddy-hosted WordPress.

Before you start

• You need: Access to your GoDaddy website editor, or WordPress admin if your GoDaddy site runs WordPress.
• Time: about 2–5 minutes
• Your snippet: included in your setup email from StartupLime (it contains your unique bot ID)

How to add the chatbot to GoDaddy

1. GoDaddy-hosted WordPress: follow our WordPress guide (WPCode footer snippet).
2. Website Builder: open your site in the editor and look for Settings → Site-wide code (available on some plans); if present, paste the snippet there and publish.
3. If site-wide code isn’t available, add a section, choose HTML (embed code), paste the snippet and publish. Repeat on the pages where you want the chatbot, or add it to your footer section.
4. Open your live site in a private window to confirm the chat button appears.

Tips for GoDaddy

• GoDaddy’s builder options vary by plan and change over time. If you’re unsure, send us editor access and we’ll install it.
• An HTML section can add a little blank space; place it at the bottom of the page or in the footer.
• If your site is on GoDaddy’s managed WordPress, the WordPress method is the most reliable.
